LIHC Megan-0037-2I write today to inform you that Michelle Hurtubise, Executive Director, will depart the Health Centre as of December 31, 2015, to start a new adventure. Michelle has accepted the position of Executive Director of the Ontario Centre of Excellence for Child and Youth Mental Health in Ottawa. The Centre of Excellence works with child and youth mental health agencies to offer a diverse collection of tools, services, products and training to help professionals find, use and share evidence that will improve outcomes on the front line of care.

Michelle joined the London InterCommunity Health Centre as Executive Director in February 2002. Since that time, the Centre’s staff complement has tripled to 100 team members, and the budget has grown to $8.7 million. Under Michelle’s leadership, the Health Centre has become known for its commitment to health equity, excellence in data quality and leadership in provincial e-health initiatives. The Health Centre’s Youth Outreach Worker, Communications, WrapAround, Hepatitis C and Trans Health portfolios were all developed under her leadership.

The Board is proud of Michelle’s accomplishments as the leader of the Health Centre and her advocacy, passion, and empathy for people experiencing barriers to health care access will be sorely missed.

The Board of Directors is committed to ensuring that the excellent level of service to our clients and the community is maintained. We are confident in the dedicated staff team who will work collaboratively to provide inclusive, quality care throughout this leadership renewal process.

We will post updates about the recruitment process on the Health Centre website as they become available.

Sincerely,

Steve Goodine,
Chair, Board of Directors
London InterCommunity Health Centre
