Health Centre to Host Dr. Gordon Neufeld!

February 14th, 2011 in Archived News Items 2

On March 30, 2011, the London InterCommunity Health Centre will host internationally recognized and respected author and child psychologist Dr. Gordon Neufeld.

Dr. Neufeld will deliver a three-hour workshop to professionals working with at-risk youth in the community in the morning, and then deliver a rousing and meaningful  educational address to more than 200 London parents in the evening.  Both events will be hosted at the London Public Library/Central Branch.

In the evening, Dr. Neufeld will offer a two-hour educational session for parents from across the community. Entitled, “Hold on to Your Kids: Why Parents Matter more than Peers,” this presentation geared to parents of pre-teens and teens is about the pivotal importance of children’s relationships to those responsible for them and the devastating impact in today’s society of competing attachments with peers. Dr. Neufeld’s talk will offer effective strategies for preserving and restoring the child-to-parent relationship.
