French Language Services
The Government of Ontario has identified and designated a number of health services providers. The London InterCommunity Health Centre is an Identified Health Services Provider that is working towards attaining designation by planning and delivering quality services in French.
French Language Services Act
Why is it so important? Canada has two official languages: English and French. Both languages are protected under the Constitution of Canada, in section 16 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Recognizing the contribution of the cultural heritage of the French speaking population and wishing to preserve it for future generations, the Government of Ontario has enacted the French Language Services Act, which guarantees members of the public the right to receive services in French.
